October 4, 2021
“Ever since she started out at the firm as a law clerk, Kim has always possessed the qualities of a top-notch attorney,” said Mitch Weinstein, principal and president of Chuhak & Tecson. “She is meticulous, extremely knowledgeable, and always balances her clients’ big picture goals while ensuring that their issues are addressed with proper advice and protections in place. Despite her own heavy workload, Kim exemplifies the meaning of teamwork as she is always willing to lend her colleagues a helping hand, tapping into her vast experience working on a variety of complex transactions whether it be to assist on a deal or offer her input on a particular matter. We are excited and proud to call Kim our colleague, and we congratulate her on this milestone in her career.”
Kim concentrates her practice on counseling both for profit and not for profit entities on a multitude of issues, with a particular focus on advising healthcare providers and technology companies on legal, regulatory and compliance matters. Kim has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions transactions, including transactions involving private equity firms. In addition, Kim serves as borrower’s counsel and disclosure counsel for tax-exempt financings.
“Kim has an unparalleled ability to thoroughly analyze complex situations and distill them into clear, concise guidance that her clients both understand and appreciate,” said Andy Tecson, mentor and fellow Chuhak & Tecson principal. “What makes Kim such a sought-after attorney is her willingness to always go the extra mile at any time, day or night, to get a client the information and answers they need to achieve their desired goals.”
Aside from actively working with her clients, Kim serves on the Governing Council of Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center as well as on the Board of Concordia Place.
Since 2015, Kim has been named as an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers Magazine, and for nine consecutive years, she was named to the Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Stars list, which is awarded to only 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state.
This is the 22nd year for the 40 Under Forty awards, and more than 1,000 nominations were received. Kim is the fourth Chuhak & Tecson attorney to receive this honor, following Mitch Weinstein and fellow principals Mitch Feinberg and Lindsey Paige Markus.
