Adam counsels financial institutions of all sizes on structuring and closing commercial and asset-based lending transactions, including SBA 7(a) and 504 loans, purchasing and selling commercial real estate and navigating commercial workouts. Additionally, he advises small and midsized companies on real estate sales, franchising, leasing and other contract matters.
When litigation is necessary, Adam employs his keen problem solving abilities to develop an effective strategy. After identifying critical flaws in an opponent’s case, he builds a strategy to overcome them and ensures that his clients’ needs are met every step of the way.
Having been trained as a scientist before entering law school, Adam is a strategic thinker on many levels. He analyzes each case from a big picture perspective, identifying the solution along with possible roadblocks, and setting in place every piece necessary to reach the client’s goal.
Recognizing that his clients may have legal needs outside his own areas of focus, Adam routinely collaborates with attorneys in the firm’s other practice groups. He strives to provide full-service representation whenever possible, meeting his clients’ goals on core issues such as estate planning, asset protection and tax and employee benefits.
Previously, Adam spent over 10 years at a small firm handling all types of legal matters, including zoning, liquor licenses and title insurance litigation. Although he now focuses on banking and real estate, Adam’s varied background enables him to recognize issues in a transaction or dispute that otherwise might go overlooked.
Adam is currently a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council. He previously served as chair of the firm’s Technology Committee and was a member of the Strategy Development Committee, the Business Development & Marketing Committee and the Space Lead Team, which was responsible for the firm’s location move in 2022.
A Cubs fan who lives near Wrigley Field, Adam enjoys exploring Chicago with his family and loves the vitality of city life.
